‘the quiet’ was commissioned for the opening of BeiWu Sculpture park in 2016. The piece sends sounds around the upturned boat form – a temple for sound. The sounds were collected from the surrounding nature reserve and lake and are sent around 32 speakers as compositions of cracking ice, woodpeckers, rain, crows and other site specific samples.
